Family Co-Pay Scholarship

The JAM Team recently announced a Family Co-Pay Scholarship for families facing difficulties in making their weekly co-payment through the Child Care Works (CCW) program. Applications are available for members of the ECE Learning Alliance and are available on the ECE Learning Alliance website.

The goal of this scholarship program is to assist families who are struggling to make their weekly co-payment to their child care provider. Providers can recommend families via this application process, and, if approved, receive a lump-sum payment from the JAM Team Foundation to cover that family's co-payments for one year. In addition, funds can be used to pay any outstanding co-payment balance.

This scholarship program will help keep children in their current child care setting, allowing them continuity of care and enabling them to continue their educational and social development in a setting that in comfortable and safe for them, while also being conducive to the work schedules of their parents.

Child care organizations can submit applications for multiple families up to the scholarship maximum for their organization type, which are as follows:

Joyce A. Miller, Ph.D: 12/25/1950-12/25/2020

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Dr. Joyce Miller, our inspirational leader, our sage counsel, and our dear friend. On Christmas Day 2020, the world lost one of its strongest advocates for Families and Early Childhood Education. Keeping true to the values she instilled in all of us, we are dedicated to continuing forward, carrying out her wishes and focusing on innovations, which align to her JAM Team Foundation. Joyce’s obituary appeared in the Sunday December 27, 2020 edition of the Erie Times News.   Please keep Joyce and her family in your thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to Joyce's  foundation which aims to establish a 24-hour childcare facility for the working parents of Erie:

We look forward to celebrating her amazing life at a time in the future when it will be safe to do so.
